From 20 April to 27 October 2024, the Conti Acquaviva D’Aragona Castle in Conversano opens to the enchantment of “Chagall. Dream of love”: an exhibition of over 100 works that reveal the soul of one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century.
After the success of the Ligabue exhibition, Conversano confirms its cultural growth with an internationally renowned artist: Marc Chagall. Jew and exile from his native land, Chagall arrived in Paris in 1910, becoming intoxicated with art and revolution. His life, full of torments and escapes, translates into dreamlike and imaginative works, where love reigns supreme.
Love for religion, for his homeland, for his wife Bella, muse and soul of his art. A love that manifests itself in a vibrant palette, in imaginary landscapes and fairy-tale characters, in a dreamlike fusion of reality and dream.
Over 100 works, including paintings, drawings, watercolors and engravings, coming from private collections and rarely accessible to the public, retrace Chagall’s career from 1925 to his death. An emotional journey through the poetics of an artist who made imagination his stylistic signature.
The exhibition is enriched with multimedia supports, videos and insights that accompany the visitor in an immersive experience. An unmissable opportunity to get to know the man and the artist, to let yourself be transported by his expressive strength and his universal message of love.
