It offers rooms equipped with every comfort in a rustic style, with veranda and external access; a large garden, a restaurant, a bar and a swimming pool where you can spend moments of unforgettable relax.

All accommodations are heated, air-conditioned and equipped with TV and WI-FI, floors in ancient chianche and private bathroom with tub or shower. The property also features free parking.

Just 5 minutes ‘drive from the center of Conversano, Masseria Alberotanza is around 15 minutes’ drive from Polignano a Mare and 33 km from Bari.
Thanks to the charm and peculiarities of the surrounding area, it is possible to practice various outdoor activities, including jogging, cycling, horse riding or simply long and relaxing walks.

Information about the structure

The atmosphere it is precisely what one would expect to find in an old renovated country farm; rustic wooden furnishings perfectly integrated with the structure, agricultural tools and implements as design elements, locally produced bulk red wine served as a vault in glass jugs and of course the right music for an enveloping feeling of familiarity.

At the table there will never be a lack of tradition from appetizers to desserts. In fact, every dish follows the cycle of the seasons; all dishes, respecting the season, therefore vary according to the period.
Among the first courses you can certainly taste the fabulous mashed broad beans with chicory, expertly seasoned with our own extra virgin olive oil. Delicate strascinati with turnip tops, hand-made orecchiette and many other typical Apulian delicacies. Among the second courses, the meat, rigorously selected and coming exclusively from local farms, will not leave you indifferent; prepared on the grill in the healthiest local tradition and, for those who want ancient and special flavors, they cannot miss the opportunity to savor the famous “nghiomrid” unique in their kind.
Finally, the desserts, all of their own production, made with love, as in the past … Typical almond pastries to accompany a rosolio or a traditional coffee.

In addition to the holiday with B&B service, the Masseria can accommodate any type of event, from theme nights to more traditional ceremonies such as: baptisms, communions, confirmations, birthdays and stag or hen parties as well as gastronomic and cultural events such as: birthdays, anniversaries, farms for baptisms, baptisms, graduations, receptions etc.

Host information

Francesco Paolo Alberotanza, known as Checco, is the landlord; is one of the last descendants of the ancient and noble Alberotanza family, for centuries one of the most esteemed and well-known families of the Bari hinterland, Checco likes to define himself “a noble farmer” for his visceral attachment to the land and to the places of origin of his ancient family. That’s why together with his partner Giovanna he made the family farm an ideal place to live in simplicity where to receive guests making them feel at home.
The days in the masseria are dedicated to the total care of the structure; to the B&B, the restaurant, the care of the garden, the vegetable garden and the swimming pool as well as the choice of strictly and personally selected raw materials. Thanks to the precious collaboration of Giovanna and other trusted collaborators, Checco can boast an excellent production of oil, wine and vegetables derived from its lands, used exclusively for the use of the structure.

Information about the neighborhood

Masseria Alberotanza is located about 2 km from the fascinating medieval center of Conversano where it is possible to admire the remains of the megalithic walls, the castle of the Acquaviva D’Aragona, the Pinacoteca which houses the works of Paolo Finoglio, as well as the countless churches and the imposing Cathedral.
Conversano, a well-known cultural center in the Bari hinterland, stands on a gentle hill a few km from Polignano a mare from which, continuing along the coast, you will find Monopoli, a town famous for the long beach of Capitolo with exclusive beaches and excellent restaurants to savor the typical dishes of the seafaring tradition. Continuing, a few kilometers away you can visit the suggestive Valle d’Itria and its countless and enchanting neighboring towns from Alberobello, well known for its famous trulli, in Locorotondo, Cisternino and Martina Franca. Continuing south towards Brindisi you can admire the beaches of Savelletri and Torre Canne, the famous “white city” of Ostuni, the Natural Marine Reserve of Torre Guaceto and one of the most important archaeological sites in Italy: Egnazia.
A labyrinth of caves and underground chasms is another very interesting itinerary not to be missed, the most beautiful Italian speleological complex of Castellana Grotte.
Matera and its spectacular Sassi are also a nearby destination.

The area in which we are located and the surrounding places offer our guests the opportunity to walk and shop along the shopping streets, admire the local handicraft products, taste the typical local products thanks to the food and wine itineraries, get lost in cultural events and exhibitions, getting lost in the sounds and smells of the numerous gardens in the area.
